Distribution of cooked meals to flood affected IDPs in Buurdhubo District

The Somali Children Development Association (SOCDA) plays a crucial role in providing humanitarian aid to vulnerable children and families affected by disasters in Somalia. In response to the recent floods, SOCDA stepped in to support the most vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) and households by providing emergency cooked meals. Many of these families had lost essential household materials due to the floods, and SOCDA’s swift intervention helped ensure they received immediate relief, alleviating some of the severe hardships they were facing.

SOCDA’s response demonstrates its commitment to not only addressing the immediate needs of the affected populations but also its long-term dedication to improving the well-being and development of vulnerable children in Somalia, especially in disaster-prone areas. Their efforts in disaster response are vital for reducing the suffering of those who are often overlooked in times of crisis.
